PSG Edges Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Lift Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.
The Parisian club has now secured the prestigious cup on 14 different occasions.
The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup victory.
The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward win in the match featuring the French league winners and the Coupe de France winners after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring in the opening stages.
Yet, Marseille fired two times late to take a surprise advantage. First, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.
In a breathtaking turn of fortune, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial equaliser in the final seconds to force the match into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the hero, stopping crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.
From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted successfully for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a 4-1 penalty win.
The record winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the past 13 seasons.
